Making My Base Routine Cruelty Free FACE 4
For the last post in our FACE series, I wanted to go through my base routine in general. To me, the base is the part that empowers me the most, to be able to concentrate on less vain things than my facial insecurities is a blessing that we should all harness. Unfortunately, since embarking on my journey to a cruelty free makeup bag (let's be real, it's more like a drawer or two!), I have discovered that most of my precious base isn't cruelty free.
My general routine consists of an ultra thin layer of foundation blended out with a damp beauty blender to even out my skin tone while still letting freckles. Next I use some of the miss sporty liquid concealer, at roughly £3 this is great all though a little greasy. It's not super full coverage so often you can still see a bad blemish coming through but I'm perfectly okay with that; I don't feel the need to cover up my skin completely as long as I'm feeling confident then I don't really care. Then, I would go in with the lasting perfection concealer underneath my eyes, I never miss this step as I have genetically bad under eye circles which is something I'm working on embracing. Then a dash of any powder on hand- a must for me as I produce enough oil to fry all of McDonald's chips. Now onto making my current routine cruelty free
As discussed in my other posts in the FACE series, I have been using the rimmel lasting finish foundation. It however is not cruelty free so I have replaced it with the Barry M matte finish foundation which is cruelty free. You can find posts in my FACE series going into more detail about the consistency's and textures of the foundations. To the side and below, I have inserted pictures of them side by side and I'm hoping that this will be a foundation that I can settle on in my new cruelty free makeup bag.
Next on my base routine is concealers. I'm sticking with the collection lasting finish as it is beautiful, so much coverage with absolutely no cakyness. However my miss sporty concealer, I will be replacing as its not cruelty free. (I'd just like to mention that I have gone through many many tubes of the concealers mentioned.) After some researche, I have decided that I will be replacing it with the new revolution liquid concealer. As for powder, I probably will pick up any old thing from the drugstore which is cruelty free. As of now I am using the stila loose powder and its really good. I might even pick up the banana powder from revolution and try some baking.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have come to the end of my FACE series. I hope that you've enjoyed the posts- back to normal next week!
