Little Ways To Be A Little Healthier + Fitness Routine

Image
Hello everyone! Wow that's a bit loud for 11 pm at night! Today I wanted to have a little chat about having a generally healthier lifestyle. I think that being physically able is so so important, firstly it's a natural boost for body confidence but it's also so good for your overall energy levels and general brightness. Sadly, few of us have the motivation to do hours and hours in the gym or the energy for proper cooking, so I thought I would share some easy ways that I try and add some healthy habits into my lifestyle. To start with lets talk about food, I'm a gal who loves her food and luckily the way I control my diet is not limiting how much I eat but rather what I eat. A change I've been implementing in the last few weeks is my breakfasts. It used to consist of cereal day in day out, which we all know is generally packed full of sugar and carbs. So instead I bought a jar from dun elm and I've been eating overnight oats every morning for a while now. To s...

Packing Essentials

Image
As I write this I'm actually on a plane to the UAE to see my mum and my friends. I actually grew up there and moved back just last summer to live with my dad, as someone who spent a lot of her child hood shuttling between not just parents but also from the UAE to the UK I am pretty efficient at packing. So it seemed very fitting to write a little post about packing. Also, because of where we lived we spent most of our holidays either somewhere tropical or in the UK and from the age of about 8 I was flying UM and then from 12 I've been flying on my own or with my sister so as you can imagine I'm also pretty accustomed to airports so I though another time I could an airport tips post too! In this post I'm going to be writing a detailed list for  a 'generic' holiday, what I mean by this is not a holiday where you have a specific focus like sight seeing, surfing, hiking, skiing etc. Actually where I'm going is a very good example I'll be doing things like sw...

Cruelty Free Makeup?

Image
Recently, it suddenly occured to me that I say I'm all for treating our earth properly and caring for the enviroment (a newbie I am aware) but I knew nothing about cruelty free makeup. The thing is that its such an easy thing to change, so why wouldn't I just bite the bullet and clear through all my makeup? It just seemed so simple. Why don't more people do it? Although I love my rimmel foundation I can definetly find another one that doesn't use animals as rag dolls to test cosmetics on. If I could make drastic changes like being one of those inspiring people who has a tiny jar of the only rubbish they've used in the past 10 years or something like that then I would, but its unrealistic for my lifestyle. But this, it was so easy!  Firstly I seperated the cruelty free products from those that aren't cruelty free; here is what I was left with. Plus a naked pallete which is clearly camera shy! I didn't want to waste any of the rest of my makeup so I put a ...

Plastic in Our Oceans

Image
At school we've been watching a documentary in geography, it's on netflix actually, it is about plastic in the ocean. I know that it sounds like a typical half attempt to make a bunch of teenagers actually care about something, but it actually hit me quite hard. I knew that the situation with plastic was bad but I had know idea exactly how bad. For example, did you know that an average UK adult will use 150 plastic bottles a year, if you were to times that by every adult in the country the number would be absolutely immense (roughly  9000000000   in fact), I guess that it's just a number but you can't even begin to imagine how detrimental to marine life that would be and it's only one tiny country normally known for drinking tea! Imagine the whole of the world's rubbish going into the ocean, an ocean which I hate to mention, provides half of the earths oxygen and is our biggest protein supermarket. In this documentary, which I really do suggest that you watch,...
